A Love Story at Overlook Park

It feels a little surreal to say this, but my nephew is getting married! Yes, you read that right—Matt, who I (Kate) met back in Thanksgiving of 2013 when he was just 9 years old, is all grown up and about to tie the knot. It’s been such an honor to watch him grow into the amazing young man he is today, and now I get to witness him marry the love of his life, Carlie.

The Journey to an Overlook Engagement

Matt and Carlie’s story is one for the books. They first met at Cocalico Middle School, but it wasn’t until three years ago, after Matt got his driver’s license, that they started dating. Their first date at Fox Meadow Creamery was simple and sweet, just two young hearts getting to know each other over ice cream. Fast forward to this past Memorial Day weekend—Matt took Carlie on a beautiful hike in the mountains and, in one of the most breathtaking moments of their lives, asked her to marry him. What a perfect setting for such a special moment! Their engagement was nothing short of magical, and I can’t wait to capture more of their journey together.

As part of their journey, we had the chance to do an Overlook Engagement session, and it was the perfect setting to showcase their love. Overlook Park was beautiful—lush greenery, stunning views, and the perfect mix of natural beauty. There’s something about the peaceful surroundings that felt just right for these two lovebirds.

A Day to Remember at Overlook Park

The Overlook Engagement session itself was such a joy. Matt and Carlie are such a fun couple, full of energy and laughter. You could feel the love between them with every glance and giggle. It’s obvious they’re best friends, and they just love being in each other’s company. It was such a privilege to capture these moments for them as they step into this new chapter of their lives. Whether it was a sweet moment between them or one of their spontaneous laughs, I could see how deeply they care for one another.

Their Overlook Engagement session was not only beautiful but also incredibly meaningful. It was so much more than just a photo shoot—it was a celebration of their love and the life they’re about to build together. I am beyond excited for their summer 2025 wedding, and I feel so lucky to be a part of their story.
